Primary School Horvati has a population of 300 students and is located on Horvacanska Street, one of the main streets in the city of Zagreb, the capital of Republic Croatia. The school was founded in 1897.
The School Principal is Biserka Matic-Rosko, who has greatly contributed to the school’s good name and success.

She visited our school on two occasions. We are also visited by Cardinal Josip Bozanic and Major Milan Bandic. Children’s public attorney also visited us.
We are proud of the various awards our students have received at provincial and national competitions in Informatics, Croatian, Mathematics, Chess, Volleyball etc.
The school has taken part in international projects such as “This is our time” and Megaconferece 2011.

We are participating in Comenius projects: Europe Anim´Action, Young Europeans Say: Break walls, be tolerant!

In 2007 we celebrated 110th school anniversary. To commemorate this event, we published the school monography, as well as the student- made video, „Our first 110 years“.

Knezija and our school have been in love for a long time......

Knezija is lovely. We are particularly fond of this part of town of approximately 10 000 residents. The old centre built in 1615 still remains, around which the greater part of Knezija was added, after the flood in Zagreb in 1964.
Marginal parts of the area facing the river Sava have been changed due to the construction of new buildings.

And here in Knezija proudly stands our old lady.... since 1897. Although already over a hundred years old she is still such a beauty!
The ground floor was built in 1897, the first floor in 1927 and then our school started to look like what it is today.
Throughout the years, all those that have had the opportunity to pass through our school have been respectful and caring allowing the school to withstand the test of time. Luckily for all of us who loved it and are going to love it, she is still here!
This year we will proudly celebrate 112th anniversary of its existence!
